Journalist and Author of
Without a Trace: The Life of Sierra Phantom
Danielle Nadler grew up in South Dakota, where a patient writing teacher fostered in her a love for relevant story telling. As soon as she had a journalism degree in hand, she moved west in search of warmer weather and more exciting headlines. She covered education, politics and general news for newspapers in Northern California, Las Vegas and Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, winning first-place press association awards in each state. In 2014, she helped launch Loudoun Now, a community newspaper in Northern Virginia, where she serves as managing editor. With her heart set on journalism, Danielle never had plans to write a book, but that all changed when she heard a story about an old mountaineer that she couldn’t walk away from. She released "Without a Trace: The Life of Sierra Phantom" in 2016. She's since launched a quarterly storytelling event called Tales and Ales, a venue for stories that are funny, inspiring, heart-wrenching and everything in between. "A mesmerizing tale
The strength of the book is its close observation in telling his story in colorful detail and her talent in weaving two very diverse threads into a compelling narrative."
A beautiful story showcasing the human condition.
JOHN A. READ
Author, The Martian Conspiracy
Nadler did an excellent job of structuring Phantom’s story for the reader, and letting him unfold it to us bit by bit. This book gives us the opportunity to see wonder and pain through Phantom’s eyes, and to appreciate him as a truly remarkable man.
